The IBPS exams are designed to, very broadly, test your intelligence and ability to reason. So the subjects revolve around math, logic and comprehension with less emphasis on general awareness (GK).

IBPS Institute General Syllabus:

• English Comprehension: Your ability to understand the English language clearly and precisely is very important. Questions like comprehension of passages, rearranging sentences, active/passive voice will be asked in this section.
• Quantitative Aptitude: Your ability to understand numbers and their relations. It’s basically Math that you have studied till 10th. Questions relating to ratio-proportions, percentages, profit-loss, discounts, etc. will be asked in this section.
• Reasoning Ability: Your ability to think logically and make inferences from given data. Problems in the form of seating arrangements, blood relations, direction sense and the likes are used to test your reasoning ability.
• General Awareness: Your knowledge about the world and important events and events that relate to banking and finance. Questions on news topics will be asked in this section.
