What is IBPS??

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is body established with primary objective of recruitment and placement in public sector banks in India (except State Bank of India) of graduates.


The IBPS follows a standardized system for assessment and result processing of the exams.The exams are as follows.
1) IBPS Clerk
2) IBPS PO
3) IBPS RRB


1. IBPS Clerk

This exam is held for hiring a bank Clerk. The exam is held in two parts
a. Preliminary
b. Mains
Both these exam are MCQs exams.

The minimum qualification of a candidate to be eligible for appearing for this exam is a graduation.
Minimum Age limit: 20 years
Maximum Age Limit: 28 years.

3. IBPS RRB

All the vacancies are divided into groups. Group A personnel of the scale 1, 2 and 3 and Group B personnel are recruited through this exam. For one to be eligible to appear for this exam they have to have certain necessary degrees and required work experience as well.
Minimum Age: 20 years
Maximum Age: 30 years

2. IBPS PO

This exam is held for the recruitment of the Bank Probationary Officer.The IBPS PO exam is divided into two parts though it is a 3 tier exam. The first two tier of the exam are as follows:

b. Mains

After clearing these exams there is a personal interview which is the third tier. The Candidate thus clearing all these exams are hired for the required postion. All the graduates can apply for this post and the qualifying candidates are then hired for a probationary period.
