What is Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC)?

The Gujarat Public Service Commission was constituted under article 315(1) of the constitution of India has defined function of the public service commission in which one of the most significant power listed is the power as an advisory. The GPSC Examination conducted recruitment to services & posts under the statethrough conduct of competitive examinations. This is the regular mode ofrecruitment where an examination is conducted followed by an interview.

There are 3 criteria for GPSC exams:

1) Nationality
2) Age Limit
3) Qualification


Must be an Indian citizen

Age Criteria

The candidate's age must be between 20-35 years of age

Note: For SC & ST, there is a relaxation for 5 year and for OBC the relaxation isfor 3 years.
For women in reserved quota, it is ten years and for women in general quota, it'sfive years.

Educational Criteria

Candidates should posses post graduate degree in any field from any of theUniversity incorporated by an Act of The Central or State.
Basic Knowledge of Computer Application
Adequate Knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, & English


Unlike UPSC, there is NO limit.

Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Interview (Personality Test)
